Chocolate Vannila Agar Agar

Ice-creams are all time favorite for any kid. However we restrict many times with a fear that they would catch cough/colds particularly before we travel or exams. When it comes to parties we are much more hesitant to prepare as all kids cannot take cold items. Dishes with agar agar is a good alternative in such cases. It is a seaweed extract and a vegan substitute for gelatin. The good part is the dish gets set in room temperature and becomes guilt free for us to prepare.

We get this in two forms – powder & strips. This post is using the powder. The measurement for this to set properly – 320ml water for 10gms of powder or 320ml water for 8gms of strips. A little variation in the measurement is still fine. In India we get it in the name “China Grass”.
Here goes the recipe.

Lime leaves Spaghetti

facebook twitter pinterest googleplus email

Spaghetti is a regular dish when there is a kid at home. I was in mood of clearing up the fridge and found some kaffir lime leaves left over. I decided to make spaghetti by mixing kaffir lime leaves instead of regular Italian basil leaves. I did the lime leaves pickle and add it to spaghetti. It turned out to be tangy and super delicious. So I decided to post this after trying out couple of times by checking at the feedback of my family members. All of us liked it in spite of repeating it thrice within a span of 10 days. This dish is very fast to do if you have the lime leaves pickle handy and it is easy to pack it for kids in the early morning for school lunch box.

Vegetable Puffs | Kid Friendly Recipe

facebook twitter pinterest googleplus email

Vegetable puff is something which is very easy to prepare. I do this quite often when there are parties or potluck with my friends where we need to prepare some dishes specific for kids. We can stuff with whatever vegetables we want inside this. This dish is definitely a no-no for diet conscious people as the puff pastry has a lot of oil inside it. I don’t use the puff pastry thin sheet, instead I use the puff pastry block as it gives me the flexibility to roll it into the shape I want.
