Oats Halwa
In continuation with my "Festive cooking on busy days" here comes my next recipe "Oats Halwa". In any halwa sugar and ghee cannot be avoided. I have
tried to reduce both of them in this recipe. Oats Halwa is a combination of Homemade
oats milk,
sugar, cardamom, ghee and nuts which is kept in microwave for 6 minutes and
cooked like a halwa consistency.
Oats Halwa is a quick microwave based halwa which can be
prepared in 5 mins if the oats milk is readily available. If it is not
available you are going just spend another 5 more minutes to prepare the oats
milk. Refer to my oats milk recipe for the same.
Sugar can be completely replaced with stevia if you wish to
do so. I would suggest not to use a plastic based microwave container for this
recipe as we are frying the nuts in microwave itself. I have seen that the
plastic getting spoiled if we fry the nuts or do tadka with them. Its best to
use a glass container which is microwave safe. However, if you do not have a
glass container ,fry the nuts separately and add it to the oat milk mix.
